WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Community Facilities Direct Loan Program has provided a loan $33,000 to Summit Township in Monroe County. This funding will be used to purchase a new skid steer loader to help maintain public facilities and roads in Monroe County.
“This federal funding makes critical investments in improving our state’s infrastructure and strengthening economic growth,” Brown said. “Today more than ever, we must ensure that communities is Ohio has the resources to improve the daily lives of its people. My office and I will continue to work with community partners to ensure the northeast Ohio is getting the support it needs.
These funds are part of the USDA’s Community Facilities Direct Loan and Grant Program, which provides affordable financing to develop essential community facilities in rural areas. The program helps small towns, cities and rural communities improve their infrastructure and provide essential facilities such as schools, libraries, courthouses, public safety facilities, hospitals, colleges and daycares .
