The Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government has launched #WeCleanTT, a national campaign to clean up and prepare for the rainy season which will span TT.

In a statement, the Minister, Faris Al-Rawi, said the campaign aimed to clean up and assess the state/conditions of roads, embankments, slopes, vacant lots, overgrown land, parks, recreation grounds, markets and slaughterhouses, as well as the removal of abandoned vehicles.

“As part of the campaign, a fact-finding exercise will begin data-based action on road repair and maintenance. It also encompasses the introduction of the rainy season and relevant measures implemented to limit the implications associated with the rains.

He said the campaign will first roll out in the Diego Martin Regional Corporation on April 23-24.

“Residents are asked to send photos and pin the locations of old appliances, abandoned cars, cut trees and other debris in their community, via WhatsApp only at 707-9122/707-9130.”
