The National Employment Directorate (NDE), the agency in charge of designing strategies for mass employment opportunities in the country, organized a 5-day orientation and training for small livestock (goat) production in 2022 and the post-sustainable development program in Akwa Ibom State.
The program was declared open by NDE Managing Director, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, who encouraged participants to take the training seriously, described it as “a life-touching program that will bring prosperity to participants through self-sufficiency”.
Mallam Fikpo, who was represented by the Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of NDE, Mr. Promise Bassey Ekah, expressed his gratitude to God that through the office of the Director General, the NDE had programs consistent with empowering the people with millions of naira.

Ekah, on his part, urged the participants to open their eyes of understanding to imbibe the spirit of discipline and punctuality throughout the training period with the continued appreciation of the General Manager for always being proactive in formulating policies to reduce poverty and ensure there is enough food. security in Nigeria.
In her remarks, the Director of Rural Employment Promotion (REP), Ms. Blessing Owan, praised the Director General’s ingenuity in conceptualizing the program to illuminate and identify added value on a sustainable basis.
“Goat is a source of milk, meat, leather, etc. It will increase income, create jobs and improve people’s protein intake,” she surmised.
Onwa pointed out that the program was underway in thirty-six states in the federation and the FCT. She further explained that POST SABTS is for graduates of the Sustainable Training Program (SABTS)
