North Shropshire: MP in search of a farming hero

THE MP for North Shropshire is looking for a community farming hero.

The National Farmers Union has launched a new award to celebrate the importance of individuals to farming and rural communities, and MPs have been asked to nominate a farmer from their constituency as a Farm Hero for 2022.

Helen Morgan is now looking for a representative from North Shropshire whom she can present for recognition and she is asking the public for suggestions.

Ms Morgan said: “Farmers are essential pillars of our communities and deserve to be celebrated.

“Their hard work often goes unnoticed, so I want to do my part to shout out and give them some well-deserved recognition.

“I am now looking for one farmer in particular who has gone the extra mile to be a candidate for the NFU Community Farming Hero Award.

“They may have gone out of their way to help neighbours, raised money for local charities or gone the extra mile to maintain the local landscape.

“If you think a farmer you know in North Shropshire deserves recognition, please contact us.”

Applications are welcome from all and can be made by commenting on Helen’s pinned Facebook post or emailing [email protected]
