TEMERLOH, December 29 – The Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB) has designated Bentong district a flood-affected area to carry out post-flood rehabilitation activities, said its minister, Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.
He added that volunteers from agencies under the ministry will be mobilized in the district to clean and perform rewiring services in the premises or homes of flood victims.

Mahdzir also said that more than 2,000 volunteers from the Department of Community Development (Kemas), Rubber Industries Smallholders Development Authority (Risda) and Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) have been mobilized in flooded areas nationwide to help those affected by the disaster.
In the meantime, he said, volunteers from the ministry have also focused on repairing infrastructure for rural residents, including their homes.
“For houses that need to be repaired, we estimate allowances of up to RM15,000, while the allowance for building new houses is RM 56,000. The casualty report will be assessed by the officers involved, ”he added. – Bernama
