Willow Center in Lewiston Receives $ 1,500 Rural Community Grant from Northwest Farm Credit Services | Idaho

LEWISTON – Northwest Farm Credit Services recently awarded a rural community grant of $ 1,500 to the Willow Center in Lewiston, according to a statement.

“The Willow Center would like to express our sincere appreciation to Northwest Farm Credit Services for their support of our young adult group program. The support that these 19 to 29 year olds will receive in the form of group support, resources and referrals will allow them to avoid the worst impacts of unresolved grief at a critical time in their life ”, said Executive Director Gabriel Lacoboni. “We couldn’t run this program without the generous support of companies like yours. On behalf of myself, the Board of Directors, the volunteers and our families, thank you!

The Willow Center is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides free support groups and resources to children and teens. The program is designed to provide a caring and welcoming environment that greatly enriches the healing process by enabling children and families to share their grief with others who have suffered a comparable loss.

At the center, children and adolescents are joined by other children their age who have also experienced death. Through activities that support the expression of feelings and emotions, they are able to interact together to help better understand death, loss, the grieving process and also to decrease feelings of isolation associated with grief.

Since the program’s inception in 2007, Northwest Farm Credit Services has awarded 1,589 grants totaling over $ 3.08 million.

The Rural Communities Grants Program provides funds to non-profit organizations for projects that improve the infrastructure, viability and / or prosperity of a community. If you believe your project may be eligible, visit nord-ouestfcs.com/ruralgrants for more details and to apply online.
