YFCU supports Mission Noël | Life on the farm

Lauren Baxter (left) head of the Cash for Kids association, the Cool FM Breakfast team – Pete Snodden, Paulo Ross and Rebecca McKinney – and Mark Corry, of appeal sponsor Harry Corry, are also pictured.

The partnership was announced as the charity launched its festive marathon effort which includes coordinating, collecting, sorting and distributing more than £ 400,000 in gifts to more than 10,000 children across the province.

The call is supported by Pete Snodden, Rebecca McKinney, Paulo Ross of the Cool FM Breakfast Show and longtime retailer Harry Corry.

Last year, thanks to Mission Christmas, more than £ 324,000 in gifts were distributed to nearly 9,500 local children.

For 2021, the Mission Christmas team is aiming even higher by encouraging everyone to tap into their inner Secret Santa in the true spirit of Christmas.

To reflect its vibrant teenage workforce, YFCU clubs will focus their gift collections on the 12-18 age group, which can be particularly difficult to purchase. YFCU Vice President Hannah Kirkpatrick is confident they will know the best gifts they can find.

“Like everyone else, young farmers love Christmas, but we are all too aware that many children and young people in our local communities live in poverty. As a rural organization, with 3,000 members at NI, we are ready and willing to do what we can, at the local level, to make sure that no teenager or young adult is missing on Christmas Day.

The head of the Cash for Kids association, Lauren Baxter, added:

“We are delighted that the YFCU has chosen Mission Christmas as their charity appeal for 2021. It is a tremendous boost and very suitable for the age of our team. We look forward to welcoming the county representatives of the organization, along with their gift collections, to our headquarters in Belfast in December. “

Anyone wishing to support the YFCU’s collection for Mission Christmas should contact Headquarters on 028 9037 0713. The 18 Harry Corry stores across NI are other collection points for gift giving.
